Replace Electronic Furnace Filters for Your HVAC System
ECOairflow's electronic furnace filters use patented Electronic Polarization Technology (EPT) to capture ultrafine particles as small as 0.001 microns — including viruses, bacteria, wildfire smoke, and allergens. Available in residential (MERV 11–12) and commercial/hospital-grade (MERV 13–16) configurations with ultra-low pressure drop and zero-ozone compliance.

Frequently Asked Questions
How to replace an electronic furnace filter?
Turn off your HVAC system, open the filter housing door, and slide out the old pad. Insert the new ECOairflow replacement pad — no tools required. Reconnect the 24V power lead if disconnected, close the housing, and restore power. The Model 1000, 1500, and Dynamo all feature tool-free drop-in pad replacement designed for homeowner self-service.
How often should I change the electronic furnace filter?
ECOairflow recommends replacing the filter pad every 3 months for residential models (Model 1000, 1500, and Dynamo). Commercial models (Model 2300 and M-Series) may last 3–6 months depending on air quality and usage load. ECOairflow offers a free email reminder service at ecoairflow.com/email-reminders to help you stay on schedule.
How to clean an electrostatic air filter for a furnace?
ECOairflow's electronic air cleaner pads are designed for replacement rather than washing. The glass-fiber mesh pads should be swapped out every 3 months. Used residential pads can often be recycled as post-consumer glass waste in many municipalities. The permanent aluminum or metal housing can be wiped clean with a dry cloth when replacing the pad.
What MERV rating do I need for my home or building?
For residential whole-home filtration, MERV 11 (Model 1000) or MERV 12 (Model 1500, Dynamo) provides excellent allergen and pathogen capture. Commercial applications typically require MERV 13–14 (Model 2300 Dynamo 2"). Healthcare facilities requiring ASHRAE 170 compliance should specify the M-Series MERV 14A or 16A hospital-grade filter.
Are ECOairflow electronic filters safe — do they produce ozone?
Yes, all ECOairflow electronic air cleaners are ETL-certified to UL 2998 Zero Ozone Verification standards, emitting below 0.0005 ppm (5 ppb) of ozone — well below the UL 867 regulatory limit of 0.005 ppm. They are recommended by the US CDC and US EPA as safe for occupied residences, hospitals, classrooms, and commercial spaces.
Can ECOairflow filters replace my existing electronic air cleaner brand?
Yes. ECOairflow filters are available in all industry-standard residential furnace cabinet sizes (e.g., 16×25, 20×25, 16×20) plus custom sizes, making them compatible as direct replacements for older systems from Honeywell, AprilAire, Lennox, GeneralAire, Carrier Infinity, and Trane CleanEffects. A Cabinet Conversion Kit is available for certain legacy commercial installations.
Do ECOairflow filters work if the power goes out?
The M-Series Hybrid EAC (Model 2300 M-Series) is uniquely designed to maintain its full rated MERV performance whether powered, unpowered, or under ASHRAE Appendix J conditioning. This is critical for hospital treatment rooms where filtration performance must be assured even during a power loss. Standard residential models (Model 1000, 1500, Dynamo) are powered-only configurations.
